What is LoRaWAN® How is it different than GSM?
+
LoRaWAN® is an LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) technology that offers Long range while consuming low power. The battery life of each sensor or device spans across years depending on usage. You may find more details on LoRaWAN® at loraalliance.org.
Why is LoRaWAN® best suited for IoT implementations?
+
Each IoT implementation is unique in the challenges it is addressing. LoRaWAN® advantage is its low power consumption and high range. Hence the infrastructure footprint to enable an IoT solution is most optimal in comparison to other technologies.

While LoRaWAN® is secure, Tata Communications LoRaWAN® offers added security at all layers of data transmission with encryption at device, network, platform and application layers.
I want to upload my device on the marketplace. How do I proceed?
+
Go to our partner page 'Become a Partner'. You will find a list of pre-requisites to be a device partner. After going through the list please click on become a device partner button and provide us with first level details and web links about your device. Our team will get in touch with you to take this further.
What information do I need to provide to be a partner?
+
For becoming a device partner, you need to fit in with the requirements as mentioned on our 'become a device partner' section. For the first level, give us details about your device & organisation. For GTM partners, tell us about your organisation, region capabilities and the scale of projects implemented so far. Based on these details, our team will get n touch with you to take this to the next step.
I have some experience with IoT, but none with LoRaWAN®. Can I still become a VAR (Value Added Reseller) partner?+
Tata Communications is constantly looking to develop new use cases for its customers, and aims to become a technology agnostic IoT solutions provider. We also provide LoRaWAN® training to all our onboarded partners. So, do reach out to us.
Do the VAR (Value Added Reseller) partners get trained by Tata Communications?+
GTM partners are critical to our IoT ecosystem. At Tata Communications IoT, we work very closely with GTM partners to bring cutting edge IoT solutions to enterprises. Also, the partners are provided process, solution and network training to ensure that together we provide the end user with the best possible experience.
Why can't I see the product prices?
+
Product prices are only visible to users who are logged in. To log in to the website, go to Login. Post-login, you will be able to see specific pricing for products.
What do I need for making an account?
+
Making an account with us is very simple- All you need is your corporate email id, a secure password of your choice and your enterprise's GSTIN number.
I have placed the request, now what?
+
Our service representative will get in touch with you to confirm your exact requirement. Our team/ecosystem partner will reach out for a short demo and process closure.
I can't see a buy now option for some products. Why is it so?
+
Some products require in-depth solutions & feasibility testing. For such products, you can send a detailed requirement and our team will get back to you with next steps.
When should I pay?
+
Payment comprises of two components: A one-time payment inclusive of device, solution and installation charges (with a free subscription for 3 months of network, platform & application bundled). Once you confirm your order to the ecosystem post the demo, you can pay upfront for the hardware, followed by subscription fees at regular intervals.
You can also go for an annual subscription for network, platform & application the first time itself, for increased convenience.
What are recurring charges?
+
As mentioned above, after the services are commissioned, a small recurring subscription fee for the network, platform & application will be charged. You can also go for an annual subscription for the first time itself, for increased convenience.
How can I renew my subscription?
+
You will be contacted by our ecosystem partner for renewal before your subscription is over. Alternatively, you can reach out to them and establish a payment cycle of your convenience.
I have some queries that need to be addressed, how do I get in touch with the team?+
For any pre-sale queries that you may have, please use the 'send enquiry' option on every solution & product page if your query is solution or product specific. For anything else, please use the get in touch with us option on the sticky navigation menu on the centre right-hand side of the page. We will reach out to you with a resolution as soon as possible.
My solution is not working. What do I do?
+
Contact our implementation ecosystem partner as soon as possible. Also, check if your subscription is still within your renewal date. The partner will further help identify the exact problem and enable resolution.
How can I change my shipping address/ installation address after ordering?
+
Our service representative will contact you post we receive your request details to understand your need and confirm your requirement. You can change the particulars of your installation/shipping address. We will do a quick network feasibility check online and change it accordingly.
What is the difference between an ILM (Individual Level Monitoring) controller and GLM (Group Level Monitoring) controller?+
While ILM allows to control every single street light, GLM allows to control street lights in batches. There are several benefits to using an ILM over GLM, that helps in optimising operations and prevent energy theft.
How do I choose the right controller?
+
The choice depends on the use case as well as the existing street light infrastructure. If the street lights have NEMA connector, and a dimming controller to the LED, then all the features and benefits of smart lighting are available. The customer also must ensure the LED light with the requisite feature is also available to reap full benefits of the solution.
For more details on the right fit, please contact us.
How can I know if LoRaWAN® is available near me?
+
If you are in one of the listed cities where Tata Communications network is available, chances are, that you are already covered. On a case to case basis, Tata Communications deploys additional network capacities for customised higher volume solutions. You can check network feasibility for every product through a link on product page. You can also reach out to our team through the network page for any queries.
